loved it!It was tough to put this book down once I started reading。 Janie Crouch writes her characters with passion and promise。 That is really the story of Derek and Becky。 Love these second generation Oak Creek books。

Oh DerekI got upset for Derek and Becky, I was so emotionally invested in this story。 I don’t think enough people understand how much PTSD affects sufferers。 Their love was never in doubt, but Derek had to learn how to forgive himself。 Throw in a killers threat to Becky and I couldn’t read fast enough。 Loved it。

What a beautiful story about forgiveness and a love that’s meant to be。 This story really pulled at my emotions and heartstrings it was just so moving。 This showed the real impact of PTSD and how it can affect you for some time after。 My heart broke for Derek and Becky and I was rooting for them to find their HEA。A slight suspense element ran through the book as well along with one of my favourite scenarios, a plane crash and survival! There are very few books that I read that truly break my heart and make me want to reach through the words and give the biggest hug until the character knows he/she is OK。 That is what this book has made me feel for both Derek Bollinger and Becky Mackay。 You have Derek (son of Finn and Charlie in Eagle), who suffers from PTSD and feels he is unworthy to be with Becky after an incident。 You have Becky (daughter of Zac and Annie in Cyclone), who believes in Derek and wants to help him and make the There are very few books that I read that truly break my heart and make me want to reach through the words and give the biggest hug until the character knows he/she is OK。 That is what this book has made me feel for both Derek Bollinger and Becky Mackay。 You have Derek (son of Finn and Charlie in Eagle), who suffers from PTSD and feels he is unworthy to be with Becky after an incident。 You have Becky (daughter of Zac and Annie in Cyclone), who believes in Derek and wants to help him and make their relationship work。 What you read is a journey that begins with such despair and pain from both of their POVs and ends with their hard-earned and hard-fought HEA。 My only pause with this story is that I wish the parents, especially both of their fathers (and their close-knit friends) who served in the military and have been through their own stuff, were more involved with the story instead of just at the end。 By being true to their characters, as written in previous books, they should have recognized that Derek was struggling and pushed him towards the help he needed。 Either way, it’s another fantastic addition to the second-generation series。 Keep tissues close! 。。。more

Screen play in the making。 I was there in Oak Creek and loved it。 This story started with fabulous suspense and emotional upheaval and continued with this roller-coaster theme to the end。 Janie is a brilliant talented writer and delivers on her promises。

Another fantastic read for this series。 Becky Mackay has loved Derek Bollinger since they were kids。 When Derek's demons take over he does the only thing he can do and walks away, but you can only stay away from the person you are meant to be with for so long, right? This is a must-read, but I'm warning you that you won't be able to put it down! Great storyAlthough this is a continuation of the series it can easily be read as a standalone book。 Becky and Derek are perfect for each other if only he can conquer his demons。 A well written story that shows the devastating effects of PTSD。 A brilliant fast paced action packed book with great characters, an enduring love and a feisty woman determined to win her man。 Loved it and looking forward to the next book。
